Unique KB design uses a dedicated 4 rib belt drive for the alternator. This allows the supercharger belt to be substantially shorter and, therefore, significantly reduce belt stretch. The supercharger pulley needs to “slip” slightly at engine rpm/shift changes to avoid the severe shock generated by the belt in attempting to stop the rotating mass of the supercharger rotors. We have seen our test car snap 10 rib belts in half with slotted pulleys. Not good for any of your parts.
