Description This is our Do-It-Yourself Tapered Pitman Arm Insert. It is compatible with 1979-95 Toyota Hilux tie rod end ball joints, 1986-95 pitman arm ball joints, and FJ60/80 Land Cruiser tie rod ends. This insert is used to convert a GM pitman arm or a 1986-95 IFS pitman arm into a female end to accept 19mm, 21mm, or 23mm tie rod ends commonly found on Toyota truck steering systems. Welding is required to complete installation. The preferred method would be to TIG weld the insert, however a MIG weld is suitable. The outer diameter is 1″ which can be inserted into a pitman arm or steering arm that has been prepped with a 1″ bore. The outer diameter could also be turned down to suit you personal needs. In general, this insert may be inserted into a large hole and welded in place, thus converting the joint for use with the common Toyota truck tie rod end.
